A few days ago, Wawa (my new friend whom I got to know because we both wanted to go to Avril’s concert) IMed me urgently saying that PAS Youth had submitted a memorandum of wanting Avril’s concert to be banned. According to them it was an insult to the National Day come 31st August and indecent. They also claimed that “rock and punk is not suitable for the young generation and especially so during Merdeka month”
And guess what? Well, they received slams for two days in a row after that.

Well honestly, FYI PAS Youth, I don’t think watching the concert makes me NOT PATRIOTIC. I have my own rights and want to watch the concert and who says I can’t be decent and be patriotic at the same time?? Besides, it’s true like what Amy Search said “You cannot expect us to wear a tie and suit to perform”.
They seriously cannot expect us to wear baju kurung to the concert can they?
Plus, who are they to say that punk rock is not suitable for the young generation bla bla? I mean, Avril’s music is not even punk rock, punk rock. Get what I mean? Hers are more to pop if you consider the fact that her music and lyrics are very light. Because they ARE made to be listened by youngsters.
Don’t these people have better issues to press on?
Oh whatever.
What’s important is that hopefully the concert won’t be cancelled because I’m pretty sure if it does, it’s gonna get pretttyyy ugly up there in KL because from my observation, we do have a lot of Avril fans here in Malaysia.
